We have launched a new product: an organic white Prosecco. Let us tell you a little more!
First of all, what is Prosecco?
It is an Italian white wine. The grape variety that gives origin to this refined wine is Glera, typical of the Veneto and Friuli regions.
There are several types of white Prosecco, depending on the production process:
- sparkling prosecco
- Frizzante Prosecco,
- Fermo or “quiet” Prosecco.
The “quiet” Prosecco is a soft and fresh straw-yellow wine, characterised by attractive fruity notes.
Prosecco Spumante and Prosecco Frizzante are distinguished by the characteristic presence of bubbles due to the carbon dioxide produced after a second fermentation. The gas pressure differs from one to the other (maximum 2.5 bars for the Frizzante against 5.5 bars for the Spumante). The Frizzante therefore produces less foam than the Spumante when the bottle is opened.
In order to evoke the Prosecco Frizzante, we will rather speak of a sparkling wine with a light head.
As for the Spumante Prosecco, like our Prosecco, it will be a wine with more bubbles and a generous perlage.
But how is the Prosecco we all know and love made?
To make sparkling Prosecco, a special process of second fermentation is followed, starting from a still wine. This wine is placed in large pressurised steel tanks where yeasts and natural sweeteners are added. The second fermentation begins and the much appreciated bubbles appear. This method, known as the Charmat (or Martinotti) method, is quite fast and allows you to obtain a sparkling wine in a few months.
Not all bottles of sparkling Prosecco offer the same sensations on the palate. This is due to the amount of residual sugar in the product.
For a long time, Prosecco was consumed exclusively in Italy, but since the end of the first decade of the 2000s, it has been very successful in exports, thanks in particular to the development of cocktails in which Prosecco is used, such as Spritz or Hugo. It is also possible to taste it on its own!
Our Prosecco is a D.O.C. extra dry. Its fruity frame brought by the Glera grapes will delight you! On the palate, it has beautiful citrus aromas and a pleasant, airy sparkle.
As with all our products, the stopper is made of cork from sustainable forests, certified cork-free, the FSC label is applied with natural glue and the packaging is made of recycled cardboard.
